Thich Nhat Hanh’s words, "The next Buddha will be a sangha," remind us that true healing, wisdom, and change come not from a singular figure, but from the collective strength of community. This workshop invites participants to explore how power is used and how decisions are made throughout the history of the United States, from its violent origins in the forced displacement of Indigenous peoples and the enslavement of Africans, to the ongoing struggles for justice in the present. Through a deep dive into the dialectical process, we will hold space for the tension of opposites—acknowledging both the painful history and the resistance movements that have emerged in response.
